Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Well, I am madly compiling this eblast on Sunday morning, because later today we are going to my son and his girlfriend's place to meet one set of her grandparents. Her grandfather and my dad actually used to be business partners back in the 70's! I likely met her grandfather when I was 7 or
something... but I have no recollection. I'm a bit nervous, because the "voice inside my head" is pretty sure that I'm unlikeable on a first meet and greet. (Life and professional practice tells me otherwise, but that voice in my head is loud today)! I'm also fairly certain that nobody should see my legs when trying to form a first opinion of me... so I don't know what to wear. What else? - I haven't made the pickled vegetables or beets yet! Too
much to do!
- The meeting with the developers went well... I gave them something to think about anyways.
- The Community Gathering for Veterinary Compendium went well, I think.
- I've had many more meetings.
- Now, I need to prepare for my Advanced Canine Rehab course for the Animal Rehab Division up here in Canada. Lots of planning and preparations go into teaching and hosting a course.
Random question: What colour is that
blanket in my video? The 70's colour palate included 'harvest gold', 'avocado green', and then that orange, and the basic brown. Did the brown and orange have descriptors like the yellow and green? Inquiring minds want to know! So, That's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: Rehab for a Post-Femoral Head & Neck Resection
|
|
I came across the following Pre-Print paper, because it had cited one of my previously written papers.
Caramico M & De Dominicus S. Advancing Physiatric Care: A Comprehensive Case Study on Laser Therapy and Hydrotherapy Integration Post-Femoral
head and Neck Resection. Preprints 2024, 2024071702. doi: 10.20944/preprints202407.1702.v1. Here's what’s to be learned from this paper: INTRODUCTION Coxofemoral dysplasia (CFD) is a common orthopedic condition in dogs characterized by joint misalignment, leading to osteoarthritis and
pain due to genetic and environmental factors. Although dogs are born with normal hip joints, developmental imbalances between skeletal and muscular growth can alter joint structures, causing pain and dysfunction. Clinical signs of CFD include lameness, stiff gait, and muscle atrophy, which are diagnosed through medical history, clinical evaluation, and imaging. Traditional treatments focus on pain relief but do not address underlying muscular conditions, highlighting the need for
physiotherapy. Physiotherapy, combined with nutraceuticals, offers a comprehensive approach by addressing the muscular, tendinous, and ligamentous changes associated with CFD. Effective treatment strategies may include... Continue reading - click below...

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec/Wibbi (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it! I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc! NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec/Wibbi (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec/wibbi as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your
question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec/Wibbi website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!) I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!
