Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? I am teaching at my clinic next weekend... so I apologize in advance if I don't get back to your emails or questions in a timely manner! This is the week of preparation and then the course will be full on for 4 days! Last week I was interviewing people for an assistant
position. It's always tricky. We have a strong candidate however, and a few more resumes that we can go through if need be. And my latest obsession is dehydrating fruits and veggies to make our own 'greens' powders for smoothies! No wonder those containers are so expensive in the store... it takes FOREVER to dehydrate and so MUCH produce to make a container of powder! However, I'm getting less fussy about the type of produce. Pea plant & zucchini
leaves! Wrinkly lemons! Old crab apples! Dandelion leaves and clover! It's all getting dehydrated. AND so, I bought a fancy electric spice grinder, and ordered a bigger fancier dehydrator too! If this animal physio thing doesn't work out, I've got plans... So, That's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: What Is TECAR Therapy?
|
|
From that blog a couple of weeks ago – the review of the paper about rehab following femoral head and neck excision – there was a mention of Tecar therapy. I thought, geez, I’m out of the loop, I need to look that up! So I did! Guess what, it is
Radiofrequency diathermy. Is that the same as short-wave diathermy… well, I found a paper from 1989 that said ‘yes’. So, it turns out that what is old becomes new again. When I was taking my physio degree several decades ago, ‘short-wave diathermy’ was on its way out. We had to learn it, just in case we were in an old hospital unit that still had one, but we were assured that, “nobody is using it anymore!” Funny, because here we are 30+ years later. Heard of
“Indiba”? It’s radiofrequency diathermy. Basically, deep heating of tissues. Keep on reading to learn more! TECAR Therapy (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) is a form of electrotherapy that uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate the body's natural repair processes. It’s also known as diathermy or radiofrequency
therapy. This treatment modality has gained popularity in both human and veterinary medicine due to its purported benefits in reducing pain, inflammation, and accelerating tissue healing. What is TECAR Therapy? Continue reading - click

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec/Wibbi (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it! I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc! NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec/Wibbi (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec/wibbi as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your
question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec/Wibbi website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!) I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time... Cheers! Laurie
