Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? I am teaching this weekend... 4 days. Lots of up and down from the floor. Lots of talking. Lots of dog hair. And not enough sleep. I will sleep on Tuesday!!! And, on the home front, my youngest son asked his girlfriend to marry him! We are so happy for the two of them. They are a lovely
couple! He also organized a surprise engagement party for Saturday night as well (and managed to pull off the surprise!) With these two things transpiring over the weekend... I have to say that I am pretty much exhausted!

What percentage of dogs over 8 years of age have osteoarthritis?
|
|
Primary osteoarthritis (OA) is idiopathic and associated with aging and obesity. In dogs, it is more commonly secondary, arising from structural instabilities (e.g., cranial cruciate ligament rupture, hip/elbow dysplasia) or other severe joint diseases (e.g., septic arthritis). Radiographic examination is the most common diagnostic tool for OA, with grading systems typically categorizing severity into four levels:
none, mild, moderate, and severe. OA is the most common joint disease in both human and veterinary medicine. Studies suggest that 38-40% of dogs have radiographic OA, and a significant portion of humans also show radiographic signs of OA (one study found only 13% of the examined persons between 55 and 65 years were free of radiographic visible OA in the hands, hips, knees and spine). Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question
pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!
