Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Spring! I think 'Spring' is new! While I am very much looking forward to 'real' spring-like temperatures (Calgary doesn't usually really see spring until late April or into May), I am optimistic this year, that it will show up sooner than it did last year! That being said, I am not happy with daylight saving time. I was
just in the mode of waking with the sun... when that time changed. Now my alarm is what wakes me! AND, the extra daylight at the end of the day is really only fantastic if you want to get outside, but it's still cold, so I don't want to get outside at 6pm! Give me a month, I should be in the swing of things by then! What else? Putting together my taxes. Calving starts in early April. Started a bunch of seeds (p.s. Does anyone actually have
success in starting onions from seed?? argh!), still a long to-do list, and I think I want a greenhouse! So, that's it! Have a wonderful week everyone! On with the show...

FOUR LEG TRAINING VIDEO # 248 CCL Critical Thinking

As Canine Rehab Professionals, we all know that the 3-legged dog has a much different gait pattern than the typical 4-legged dog. In this issue, the available research from 1970 to 2024 was analyzed to create a summary of findings over this 50+ year span. The research provided focus on the biomechanical, kinematic, and kinetic adaptations in dogs following forelimb or hindlimb amputation.
Below are the common findings and themes that emerge across these studies. ENJOY THE LEARNING! Login. It should be right there. Or, Go to Newsletter Archives and find it there!

The study “Effect of a Corset on the Gait of Healthy Beagle Dogs,” authored by Takamasa Itoi and colleagues from Okayama University of Science, in collaboration with Daiya Industry Co., Ltd., explores the potential benefits of the Anifull Dog’s Corset Pro—a device designed to support canine spinal stability. Published in Animals (2021), this research investigates
whether this corset can enhance trunk stability without disrupting normal gait, a question with significant implications for managing intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) and aiding post-surgical rehabilitation in dogs. Keep

Have You Checked it Out?

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question
pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!
