Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? Well, this month I create what I think is a fun bit of educational content for you! It's a SENIOR DOG YOGA PROGRAM. There's a video and a hand out. Let me know what you think.
Me? My ankle is feeling so much better, and I feel like I can get back to doing some kinds of exercise. I think that the 'Christmas sugar' is slowly
being purged from my body. My current 'listen' is a book called: Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine. (Not a 'page turner'... but very interesting never the less). And hubby and I just finished the Netflix series "American Primeval". It was good. We need some more 'winter watching shows' now. And, have you check out the lineup of workshops at the upcoming STAAR Conference this year? It looks like it will be a great event! Check
it out here: https://www.staarconference.com/ That's it! Have a wonderful week everyone! On with the show...

FOUR LEG TRAINING VIDEO # 247 A Senior Dog Yoga Routine
|
|
Looking for a simple program to prescribe to all of your senior dogs? I have been thinking about this for a while, and thought I would come up with a bit of a protocol. Now, these are not fancy or clever exercises... but they are compiled into a program that I think would be safe and easy for senior dog to do. (And I put it to music... so that's fun!) Check it out the VIDEO & HANDOUT (Article)!! Login. It should be right there. Or, Go to Video Training, scroll to the bottom and find it there! For the article, go to Articles,
then the subheading Geriatrics and find it there.

Wondering about the location of myofascial trigger points (MTPs) in dogs with osteoarthritis? So, did a Brazilian group of veterinary researchers. Formenton M, Fantoni D, Gauthier L, et al. Prevalence and Location of Myofascial Trigger Points in Dogs with Osteoarthritis. Front Vet Sci. V ol12,

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question
pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time... Cheers! Laurie
