Got a Question? Need Answers? Need Ideas?
WELL LOOK NO FURTHER! See what the Four Leg LIBRARY of content has to offer! Or jump onto the FORUM and ask your questions... Not on the Forum yet? Go and register! Not a member yet? Why not?! Affordable & Expansive Learning to be had! What's new? My ankle is feeling so much better. I can stand on one leg to put on pants, and I have been able to go up on my toes to reach for things again. BUT... between my knee injury in the summer, my ankle injury in the fall, and Christmas, I feel fat. The scale says that it 'feels' fat when I
stand on it too! Okay... better get back to healthy living now that Christmas chocolates are gone and movement no longer hurts!
Also, it snowed. It's cold, So, I'm inspired to set up my indoor growing operation in the basement to start seeds for summer and grow lettuce and other fast growing vegetables. Time will tell what the US-Canada Tariff Trade War will impact... but I'm glad I did so much food processing in the fall. My freezers are full and
my pantry is stocked. I guess we'll see what happens! So... That's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: Cruciate Repairs and the Effects on ROM and Lameness
|
|
A new research paper came out that looked at ROM in dogs following surgery for cruciate ligament rupture. They wanted to compare the differences in stifle joint range of motion (ROM), both flexion angle (FA) and extension angle
(FA), for dogs that underwent tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA), tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) and tight rope (TR) procedures. This was a retrospective study, that evaluated the archived records of client-owned dogs treated at the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences of the University of Bologna, Italy. The inclusion criteria consisted of recording of the passive ROM (EA and FA) and the grade of lameness
at the time of diagnosis (T0) of the CCL rupture, one month (T1) following the surgical procedure and, when available, even after 6 months (T6). Continue reading - click below...

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec/Wibbi (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it! I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc! NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec/Wibbi (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec/wibbi as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your
question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec/Wibbi website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!) I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time... Cheers! Laurie
