new? I'm sore. I'm tired. I'm glad that June has arrived! We had our 'branding day' yesterday (without branding that is). My job is 'kitchen bitch'... so my Mom, my soon-to-be-daughter-in-law's Mom, and I fed about 28 people both lunch and dinner. The day itself was a lot of work, but the preparations had me exhausted as well. (i.e. Driving a shopping cart around Costco with about $800 of supplies and weighing likely 300 lbs,
really takes a toll on your arms and wrists! As well, going up and down the stairs 20 times in a day is also taxing!) So, as I type this up on Sunday, I am exhausted from the week... and just now am creating both your blog and Four Leg Rehab Minute, as well as this eblast. I'm fairly brain-dead... please forgive any typos or other less than stellar performances! So, that's it for the updates... On with the show!

Four Leg BLOG: Understanding Spinal Disease Prevalence in Pugs and French Bulldogs
|
|
Another nifty new study has come out with short and sweet, “need to know” info-nuggets for clinical practice. Spinal diseases are a significant concern in
brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs (FBDs) and Pugs, but their prevalence and presentation differ markedly despite their phenotypic similarities. A recent retrospective study by Kerr et al. (Veterinary Record, 2025) at the Royal Veterinary College provides critical insights into these differences, offering valuable guidance for veterinary clinicians.
The study analyzed 439 FBDs and 106 Pugs presenting with spinal disease between 2010 and 2022, using advanced
imaging (MRI and CT) to confirm diagnoses. Key findings highlight distinct patterns:

Have You Checked it Out?
|
|
For over a year, I worked with Physiotec/Wibbi (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it! I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc! NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec/Wibbi (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec/wibbi as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your
question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec/Wibbi website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!) I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time... Cheers! Laurie
