Hi there everyone, Firstly, I want to tell those of you on the US east coast, how much I'm thinking of you during this time! The pictures we are seeing up here look just devastating, and the lack of power for still so many must be extremely challenging. It makes me think of priorities in life. Indeed, family and health trump all... and from a business perspective, I have to say that it is the people that I am so thankful for - my partners, my staff, and my clients. Sometimes we can get so caught up in things like 'marketing to acquire more clients' that we forget to be thankful for the ones we have, and to let them know that we cherish them too!
Secondly, last week I reported that I received a black eye from unloading a wheeler from the back of my vehicle. It was a nasty bruise with all sorts of swelling! And based on how strangers looked at me (i.e. at my son's football game the day after), I came to realize that perception is everything! I'm sure that many people made up stories in their head: Her husband beats her; She's into mixed martial arts; She's the kinda gal that gets into fights at the bar! But it made me think about what sort of first impression my staff, my clinic, and I make on a regular basis. Try this (and ask other staff members to do the same): walk into your clinic and look at it with 'fresh eyes', as if you were noticing all of the little things for the first time. You can do this with your website, your brochure, and your business cards too. Are there simple things you can do to improve your first impressions RIGHT NOW?
