Lundi Learning Lessons
Hi Gang!  So, right off the bat - for those of you who are thinking I'm making up words... Lundi is french for Monday.  I just wanted to change things up a little bit for you!  This week has been another busy week for me at the clinic.  Lots of great cases and great clients.  I saw a fascinating case last Thursday... a cute little Australian Shepherd that had been run over by farm machinery in the summer - necessitating the amputation of her front leg and a Femoral Head Ostectomy of her opposite hip.  Here she was now only using 2 legs to ambulate... and happy to boot!  On evaluation of her FHO leg, there was pain on hip extension, a clunk with dorsal-ventral glides of the hip, and pain on palpation of the deep gluteal & pectineus (muscles associated with hip pain).  So I sent her back for radiographs to see if a further surgery might be necessary to remove a bone spur.  Sure enough - the x-rays revealed a lip on the femoral neck that would account for the clunk and pain.  So they did surgery and the vet sent a lovely e-mail back to the clinic thanking us for recommending x-rays and to see if she can come and watch an assessment or treatment session!  How lovely!
So... here's what I have for you this week:
