What's been going on?
Hi Gang!  So, I want to start by again reiterating how fabulous my marketing course was... yes, I told you that last week.  However, as part of a plan to keep the marketing momentum going, I have teamed up with a friend who was on the course with me, and we are officially "marketing buddies".  We did a Skype call with each other other on Wednesday and set out our plan (step one) to implement the ideas and strategies learned in the course.  I'm pretty lucky, as she is an intuitive councillor and while she will help to keep me accountable, I'll also benefit from working with her on a more intuitive level  (councillors can't help but to council... I just have to be open to it!)

Which brings me to my next point to mention.  I read one book and listened to one book on CD since I last reported on that subject.  The CD was entitled Trust Your Vibes at Work by Sonia Choquette.  She basically lays out the rationale and strategies to 'trust your vibes'.  It might not be for everyone... but I think everyone could use the information!!!

The book I actually read (while on the plane from San Diego) was called Great Leaders Grow by Ken Blanchard & Mark Miller.  It's a nice easy read that is told like a story.  To sum up the main points of the book, the authors state that in order to be a great leader, you must GROW.  Grow is an acronym that stands for :
  • Gain knowledge - of yourself, others, industry, and leadership
  • Reach out to others - formally & informally
  • Open your world - at work and outside of work
  • Walk towards Wisdom - via self evaluation, feedback, seeking council from others, and by taking time (i.e. it takes time to accumulate wisdom, so don't rush it)
I really enjoyed this book and felt inspired after reading it.   Two thumbs up.

So that's my 'news' for this week!  Have a great week everyone, and send me your questions or book recommendations!  Until next time...

Cheers!

The Blog
This week's blog post is a great question I received a few months ago.  I think plenty of folks will find it useful.  It's about post-operative management of shoulder OCD removal.
