FourLeg: caught between maniacal chaos and bouts of serenity!

What's up?
So, you may wonder what on earth am I getting at this a subject line like the one above!  Quite simply that is what my life is like right now (but maybe always)!  I have so many balls in the air, projects on the go, interests to pursue, and obligations... that there are days when I just want to crawl back into bed and hide under the covers.  But I just keep plugging away - because, really, because you have to.  Nothing more inspirational than that!
It can get overwhelming however.

I have joked for a long time that a day should not begin before 9:30am... as I can be rather depressed before then (especially in the winter when it is not light out until 9am and gets dark again at 4:30pm)!  So, when I drive to work in the mornings, I try not to think about making big decisions, or all of the things I have to get done, or have any deep thoughts... but it's been on these trips into work that I have been looking around at nature (most of my drive is in the country).  And I have been struck with some of the most beautiful, wondrous sights that give me a wee bit of serenity.

The other day I saw a mother doe and her baby fawn.  Right by the side of the road at a traffic circle.  They were just munching away on grass, not bothered at all by the cars, and all in all, they looked completely peaceful.  I made mental note of how beautiful they were and how amazing it was to see them.  Now, those of you who have been followers of my posting for a while now, know that I like to look up animal symbolism.  So here's what the 'deer' symbolizes:
Love. Grace. Peace. Beauty. Fertility. Humility. Swiftness. Regrowth. Creativity. Spirituality. Abundance. Benevolence. Watchfulness.
NICE!  I like it all (minus 'fertility'... I don't need that anymore - thank you very much.)

So really, the message?  We all likely have a multitude of things that we must do, or should do, or want to do.  I think the trick is to simply keep moving forwards... do the best you can to tackle them... make some forward progress everyday... but take the time to sit back and remark on how simply amazing it is to be in this world, to be enjoying what there is in the world to be enjoyed, and to know that everyday, you can be a part of what makes this world amazing for others.

So think about that!  But for now... on with the show!
Members' Training Video
This week I have Part 2 of the Obesity Program video.  To help you round out your knowledge and thoughts on creating a program for your clinic, practice... or to just provide sound advice to individual clients.

And it's good timing even for me personally.  I have to do a talk on Tuesday night for a vet clinic!  I've got to get my buns in gear to create not only my talk but also a handout - and gather up some promotional materials!

Blog - Pug not right!
This week's blog is taken from a literature review that I posted in a past Four Leg Newsletter.  It's about neurologic pugs... and a relatively unknown cause!  I thought it was good enough to share with everyone!
See you in NJ?
I'm really hoping to get to see many of you at the STAAR conference in New Jersey, USA at the end of this month!  If you don't already know about this conference, you'll want to put it on your schedule for future years!

And if you're coming this year... be sure to come up and say hello!
Lastly...
And this is just because I have had some questions about these...
  1. The Marketing Manifesto is available for sale to anyone that didn't sign up for Membership before the end of May - but who would still like that information.
  2. Basic Manual Assessment & Treatment of the Canine Axial Skeleton book continues to be a popular item for purchase.
  3. The Canine Dermatome & Myotome poster can sometimes be grouped with the book above for reduced shipping rates (I can only do the calculations after I go to the post office and then I can refund your paypal acct in the event I can combine shipping... and get it to you cheaper).
  4. If you are a member, you can also purchase my Therapist Manual (teaching handouts).  I only have 9 copies left and won't be making further printings of these.  It can be ordered from the Discount's page on the Member's side of the site.  If non-members are interested... just drop me a line.  First come first serve until they're gone!
So, to purchase 1 - 3 of these items, check out the PRODUCTS tab on the main website.
