Back in the Swing of Things!
I'm back!!
Italy was lovely!  The food was amazing!  Honestly, I put on 7 lbs last week!!  I'm slowly getting it off... but I can't even say that I regret it.  I enjoyed every morsel and drop!!
The VEPRA conference was good fun as well.  Fabulous people and so well organized - it was a pleasure to be a part of it!  If you are a European practitioner, you need to become a member of their association...  We are stronger and more effective all around, when we are collaborative!
Member's Video
This week's video is actually part 1 of one of the talks I gave in Italy.  This is about creating an Obesity Program for your clinic.  Rehab is the perfect place to put a weight management program, and a good way to draw in more clients.  Definitely let me know what you think!

What's blogging?
This week's blog is a great question and answer series about my favourite muscle:  the Teres Major!  Have a read - I hope it will help others with their thought processing when approaching soft tissue injuries in canine athletes.

YOUR comments about the FourLeg Educational Content... and YOUR smarts!!

Re: Marketing & Cupping

Congrats on all your well deserved demand around the world...you are one of my favourite PTS....SMART CONNECTED AND JUST AS IMPORTANT.....MARKET SAVVY.  Keep up all the good work.

I have done some cupping on dogs.  As well as ITB suction delamination. (With lots of ultrasound gel slide the plunger or cup to mobilize and separate the myofascial adhesive tendinopathy)

And or release the Myofascial Occlusive neuropathy (MONS).

Cheers, D.M.

Re: Theraband or Taping for Core Stability

Hi, Laurie!!

I just watched your last movie and loved it!! My question for you is: would this technique be ok for neuro dogs (hemi-sx patients)?? I am thinking about those patients that need core stability exercises...or any other suggestions...

Thanks a lot. - L

I think it would be worth trying!  Good idea actually - I hadn't taken it there in my mind!

Obviously for a short time, supervised, and in conjunction with a physical activity / exercise / task...

Let me know what you think that next time you try it!

Laurie

Re: Marketing

Just thought I would add one more idea for marketing...I have found that the best referral network for me is dog walkers and dog parks...imagine dog comes in limping and after rehab is good to go, then dog walkers and park goers see the change and they talk to their vet about getting rehab. This has been a huge marketing strategy for me - T.C.
