Ugly carpet… Ugly linoleum!

Decisions… decisions…  So after diligently moving books and binders from my office to the basement in order to prepare for the flooring installation… I received the FINAL quote to change out all of our old carpet and linoleum… $17 000!!  Well, after I picked my jaw up from off the floor, I thought about it.  I had just been to a university open house a few days earlier with my oldest son… and they had calculated the cost of university (tuition, living on campus, books… and luxuries like food & water) to be about$11 000 a year (undergrad studies only)…  Gulp!  So… the floors I hate will have to stay.  Unfortunately, when we built this house about 15 years ago, we were simply stunned by things like light switches at both ends of the hall or lightbulbs in the ceiling NOT attached to a string!  We had lived in a little old farm house before we built this one, and wood flooring (or fake wood - as that is what I am actually looking at) just seemed too decadent!  Curses!!!  As it will likely be 10 years more now, before I can consider it… that is IF the wee beasties (two boys… could be worse, they could be girls) don't decide to get married!  Okay… enough of that, I just wanted to share my pain… I hate my floors!  At least I don't need to move any more books...
Now, now… this is about your learning… so here we go!
