Next up… Treating Ribs!
Image
Well another busy week just flew by!  My clinic hosted Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation (Part two of the Canadian Animal Rehab Division's course series towards a Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation) this past weekend.  It was taught by one of my colleagues, Margaret Kraeling… and we saw 7 more physiotherapists enhance their canine rehabilitation knowledge and skills.

This week my new assistant starts.  Hopefully this will give me more time to create some great learning for all of you (and just maybe the opportunity to relax and enjoy my family a little more as well!)  And… I will be able to learn a little bit of sign language too in working with this new person!  I love learning new things!!

And what will you be learning this week?

Member's Training - Treating Rib Dysfunctions
Last week members looked at how to identify rib joint problems.  This week, you will learn how to treat for these issues!  We are astounded by how many rib dysfunctions we see at my clinic… and if you've never looked for them / never treated them, then you have not been providing comprehensive care!!  Check out the video!

Blog - A unique case regarding rib dysfunctions
So to keep up with the rib theme, I decided to use another rib blog.  This time, it is a snippet of the article I wrote for Topics in Companion Animal Medicine journal - coming out some time soon(ish).  This is a case study of a rib dysfunction with a unique presentation.

Agility Athlete - The sport & common injuries
The Animal Rehab Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is presenting a webinar… and I am delighted to have permission to let all of you know about it!!

Physiotherapists and agility competitors, Lorna Clarke & Cathy Sajtos will briefly discuss the sport of canine agility, including descriptions of the various pieces of equipment & potential injuries.  Assessment & treatment of two common agility injuries will be reviewed.

If you are new to this sport & client demographic… then you will want to join us to learn more on April 29th at 6pm (Mountain Daylight Time - Denver / Edmonton / Calgary).  If you sign up but can't make the date, you will have the ability to view & listen to the presentation at a later date!

But there is a deadline to register… so don't delay in checking it out!

Coming soon! - Myofascial Trigger Point Mini Course
I am also happy to announce that I have created a mini-series all about myofascial trigger points.  It will come out as Members' Training for those of you who are members… but I will also make it available for Non-Members to sign up to take it as well.  So… keep your eyes peeled for that announcement… I just have a few more 'pages' to set up to make it work!

We'll be in touch!

Until next week…
Cheers!  Laurie
