My Borzoi's not drugged!

I've heard comments from some of you that you think I must drug my Borzoi Talya for my video shoots.  I heard other jest "Can you work on a dog that's not comatose?"  Well… yes!  So in today's video I have 'live' PUPPY ASSESSMENT for you.  This is an 8 or 9 week old (I forget… but I say in the video) Rottweiler puppy belonging to a longtime client of mine.  I am ever-more convinced that puppies need to be checked early and often throughout their first year of life!  I am amazed by how much I am finding with these little ones.  When I do a full litter evaluation, 50% of the puppies in every litter have 'something' for me to treat:  spine, ribs, SIJ, and as they get a little older you can monitor their hips, elbows, general growth!  I really have to advocate that you advocate for this with your new puppy owners & breeder-clients as well.

So check out the video and please realize that it was filmed in 'real time' (i.e. I am talking with the owner, entertaining and watching her kid, and dealing with the puppy… REAL LIFE assessment scenario).

One last post on Swimmer's Tail...
Thanks to Dr. Julie Buzby for e-mailing and sending me these two abstracts.  This should round out your knowledge and top up your knowledge on the subject of Swimmer's Tail.  Click.  Read.  Learn.  Enjoy!

Other thoughts...
And just to fill you in… it's finally green around here.  I was commenting just the other day that I caught myself looking out into my yard and having that sense of "What a beautiful place I live in"!  It's been MONTHS since I've had that feeling… it's good to feel happy with my little part of the world again!

The family and I made it out to our little cottage this weekend.  It was our first weekend out there for the season!  It is a nice little place that makes you relax a little bit!  I need that!

And I am learning sign language.  I found a highly recommended online learning platform and I am slowly but surely stringing together some simple sentences!  If you're interested in learning too, here's the link: http://lifeprint.com.  I hope to be better at it than that South African guy that messed up at Nelson Mandela's Memorial!

I also think that I'm going to go to the International Symposium in Oregon… likely as an exhibitor.  I'm kinda nervous about that!  (I know, I know… what a ridiculous thing to be nervous about!)  Okay - so it's now 'out there'  I'll have to officially register now!  Hope to see some of you there!

Okay… well, that's it for now!

Thanks for tuning in, have a great week, and we'll talk to you again soon!

Cheers,

Laurie
