Hey Gang! It's been a busy week for me: 4 full days of work, a staff meeting (on my day off), and as I write this (Sunday), we had another successful day of lure coursing with my Borzoi. This was sight-hound day, so we were able to hang out with other Borzoi, some whippets, a whole whack
of Basenjis, a pair of Ibizan hounds and Italian Greyhounds (and then plenty of non-sight hounds too). AND, you'll be happy to know that I did better with warming-up my dog! Mostly just some jogging around (because she was hard to motivate to do anything much else)… and I guilted my vet-friend with the Ridgeback to jog around a little as well. I think we were the only ones warming up our dogs. (At least I had an influence on one other person /
dog!)
And remember when I said that I signed up for the online meditation course… well I'm doing okay with that. Not 100% diligent, but at least a bit more conscious about controlling my mind when I feel stressed and overwhelmed. I also bought this really cool program called Philosophers Notes. It is 180 book reviews, broken down into approximately 20 minute audios or 6-page written highlight sheets. I feel smarter already!! I always
say that I wish I had more time to read / watch / listen to stuff… and somewhere recently I heard of the term 'Net Time', which is meant to represent all of that time when you are doing mundane, monotonous, automated stuff where your brain is not active (i.e. driving to - from work, making dinner, taking a bath, waiting to pick up a kid from football practice, etc). It's in these moments of time that one could be stimulating their brain by watching videos, listening to audios, etc.
And so for me, this is where my Philosopher's Notes will be best utilized. I've already listened to two books this weekend!
Okay… let's tell you what's 'on deck' for you this week!
