The FourLeg E-blast!
Beautiful Weekend
This weekend I organized a lovely course for The Animal Rehab Division (our Canadian Animal PT group)  that was hosted at my clinic:
Acupuncture Points and Meridians Useful for the Treatment of Dogs:
Alternative methods of application and how to apply current ideas of treating the musculoskeletal and fascial system
A long time friend of mine, Silvia Lavallee from Winnipeg (brrrrr), was our instructor... and it was great fun!  Not only did we learn great stuff regarding acupuncture points and meridians, but Sil did an awesome job of then marrying these components with fascial restrictions and myofascial techniques.
And as if that wasn't great enough, it was also a lovely get-together with 9 physios and 1 vet all engaged in the field of animal rehab!  Such great discussions!!!

So, I'm not very rested after this weekend and I had to miss 2 of my yoga sessions this because of this course... but I'll be back at it next week!
Now... for YOU... here is your learning for the week:

Here's a really neat video (yah, I'm biased) ... and it just sort of came out of the blue because of a Facebook I recently joined and a blog post that we posted for my clinic...
Hairy Foot

Hairy Feet & Toe Nails

What can you do to really help your senior dogs and your neurologic dogs.  And let's not forget the sporting dogs either.  Check this out!

And the blog is a good Q & A... that could lead into a video in the future!

Patellar Tendinopathy post-TPLO

I have a topic suggestion for you:
Patellar Tendonitis - seen most often with dogs with TPLO - have you seen it with other CCL repair techniques?
I have seen post-op x-rays where the patellar tendon is 2-3x the size of what it should be.  I see a lot of dogs with enlarged tendons that don't seem to have pain and other dogs that are more lame than they should be at 4-8 wks out etc, and I’m wondering if the tendon is painful...

Ohh!
Did you check out last week's audio & the blog?  I am delighted to report that I even got my husband to do his plan for the year of Intention-based Value Living!  And that's huge!
So, if you've not tried it yet!  Do it!

Okay!!!  So next week... be prepared for the Shockwave Newsletter!  Soooooooooooooo much information!
Until then....

CHEERS!

Laurie
