FourLeg: Stupid Yoga! AND preventing hip dysplasia... and more!

Published: Mon, 05/18/15

I think I have to quit yoga!  I am in such agony!!  My left sacroiliac joint is causing pain in by butt, hip, and iliopsoas muscle, I can't stand straight and I have to groan every time I move!  I think I'm unstable (biomechanically... but let's not rule out mentally...), and I'm afraid it started with yoga!  It kills me to say it... since I've been loving yoga... but I think it has broken me!   My recent flare up started on my plane ride over to Germany... and I didn't bring my back brace (the most recent contraption I've been using at home to relieve pain.)  Stupid me!

Okay... so the courses here in Germany went well, I taught my extremity evaluation & manual therapy course and my advanced spinal manual therapy course to a group of veterinary chiropractors.  I was pretty nervous about the second course... but all in all, everything went very well and the group was happy to learn new techniques and approaches!  Phew!  So this little trip my become a semi-regular trip for me! (With my SIJ belt AND no yoga before hand!!)

Dog butt!

So I was hoping to get the next FourLeg Newsletter out for this week's education... but we ran into an editorial glitch and so it's stalled for a week.  Instead, I bring you part one of Preventing Hip Dysplasia - Part 1.  I think this is a cool concept.. and WOW, but wouldn't it be amazing if we could make a read difference in reducing the incidence of hip dysplasia!?!!  I think we can!  Check it out!

Blog: Shoulder Case Gone Backwards...
What do I do?
Canine Shoulder

Hi there!

I had contacted you several months ago regarding my first rehab patient. It was a dog with MSI of the left shoulder with biceps and supraspinatus tendinopathy. He had been lame for over 2 years before I saw him.

Since we last spoke a lot has happened!

That's it for today!  I'm exhausted... and I have several hours of flying ahead of me!
So, until next time...
Cheers!
