FourLeg: horses, my backside, & a cat declawing disappointment...

Improving daily!!!
Phew...
Okay... just to update you... my back is getting better. I've been diligently wearing my SIJ back brace, getting my husband to occasionally pull my leg (it's an SIJ manipulation that works for me), using laser and shockwave when I'm at the clinic, and I avoided yoga (and the gym) this week.  So hopefully I'll be back to normal shortly!

And the highlight of my weekend was finally buying my outdoor annual plants and getting them into pots!  It's starting to look like summer in my yard now!

This newsletter is a little different.  Just for a change, I've found some equine research that could be applicable to canine rehab:  Spinal manual therapy; Allied health therapies; Postural indicators of back pain; PRP in tendons; Regenerative medicine for tendons & ligaments;  and some cartoons to keep you entertained!

Blog: Declawing complication...

A veterinarian-friend called me because a month or so after doing a laser surgery declawing on his own cat

The cat started hyperextending the carpus and is now walking plantargrade on both front limbs.  He has been talking to his veterinarian friends who say it is a very rare complication post surgery.

(Read more to see what I figure may have occurred or what can be done... but I'd love to hear back from you folks to know if you have heard of this complication and/or what you've done for it!)

Read On!
And that's a wrap folks!  Next week I'll have part 2 of Preventing Hip Dysplasia... so stay tuned for that!

And... I'm still waiting for some of you to send me your videos for content... I know that many of you are doing some very creative stuff!  Please share!  Let me know if you need help in figuring how to do it... but really, a good camera or your iphone can take a good video (just speak loudly)!

Until next time... Cheers!

Laurie
