FourLeg: Oh those pesky patellas!!!

Published: Mon, 09/07/15

It was a tough week!
A box of chocolate consumed & 2 bottles of wine...
Nobody told me it was going to be this difficult.  I have since talked to a couple of other mothers just a few years older than me who confessed that they cried every day that first week that their kid went off to university. So, perhaps I'm not totally abnormal!  I am not getting on a scale however... since I resorted to chocolates & wine in the evenings.  I am determined to make this week a bit more productive and 'forward' moving however!

So on that note... Onto YOU and your learning for the week!

Patellar luxation.  What do we know in dogs?  What do we know in people?  This newsletter contains nicely compiled info on these two topics.  Start here and be ready for the next parts where we formulate a plan for conservative management of patellar luxations in dogs.

PS  I found some typos... please forgive.  Darn auto correct (luxation = laxation in a place or two... arghhh... and it wasn't turned into a PDF on my computer.  But I know you guys are cool enough to read past those wee things.  Sorry gang!)

I must be prepared for the upcoming videos. I'll read this now!
Blog: A troublesome MSI case!

Hey Laurie,

Have been reading all of your MSI stuff and watching the videos.  I have client with an agility dog, 5 y/o,  44 lb lab, very fit and well-muscled, has been jumping  20 inches, that I think may have MSI.  She knocks bars and on recent video we were able to determine that she lands and experiences an issue with the front, then knocks the next bar as she can’t get her stride right before the next jump.  She has not allowed extension on the right shoulder for years! –

These chronic medial shoulder instabilities / medial compartment syndrome cases can be tricky.  Read the whole case question and my reply.  And feel free to comment!

These cases are common... so it's good to learn more about them!
So have a great week everyone!  I'll be sitting in a corner just eating stuff if you're looking for me!!

Until next time... Cheers!

Laurie
Guess what?  It snowed last night!
P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
P.S.  Don't forget...
Check out the Products page on www.FourLeg.com:  books, a poster, and courses.  And for members, check out the Discounts page after you log in!
