And I'm finally starting to feel relaxed! |
Okay... here's my recap of the past week and a bit. - My father got in another car accident. Everyone was fine... but he totalled another truck (this one he had only owned for 24 days. He's smashed and totalled the last 3 trucks he's owned.) We have been banging our heads against the wall with him and trying to get someone to take his license away (his eyesight is terrible, his mobility is compromised, his
reflexes are shot, and he claims that his right foot goes numb when he sits for too long!) Well... there is a government program where you can anonymously report an unsafe driver. And now FINALLY (after they did their own investigations)... they will be taking his licence away! So, onto the next phase of adulthood - taking care of aging parents. Don't stop the carnival!
- My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with my sensitive tooth! No
crack... but it's still sensitive. However, there was a cavity from back in February when I was there last that I must have forgotten to return to get filled... so I'm getting that done on the upcoming Wed. (All in all, better than a root canal.)
- I finally got my husband to assess my SIJ. Yes, he's a mechanic... but he takes well to instruction and is always willing to try things when asked. I place his fingers in the right place and tell him what I want to
know (either positionally or with movement). Anyways, based on his 'assessment' I think my SIJ was stuck in posterior rotation. I got him to mobilize it anteriorly... and BAM... I feel about 90% better! Amazing how that nagging chronic pain can really sap your energy, empathy, and motivation! So, I'm feeling great right now!
- And I bought a new vehicle. My current one is 10 years old and starting to have problems. Most recently the fuel injection pump
was replaced because on really hot days, it wouldn't let me accelerate. (And that makes it hard to get home from work... let me tell you!) So I am now a proud new owner (or rather, I will be on Wednesday) of a Toyota 4Runner. And my mouse infested, newly fixed 05 Ford Freestyle will find itself for sale at the end of my lane-way!
Now onto YOU and your learning for the week!

Picture from my recent past... just getting to it now. |
So from my recent teaching in Portugal... here is one of my favourite pictures. This photo was taken from the Yeatman Hotel in Gaia which is across the Douro River from Porto, Portugal. The Douro river come from the Douro region upstream (where the wine
grapes are grown). To the left, the river empties out into the Atlantic Ocean. Below are the roofs of the wine merchants & wine cellars. The bridge to the right was constructed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel, who you may have guessed by his name, also built the Eiffel Tower in Paris. With me in the photo is
the lovely Dr. Barbara Assis who was instrumental in having me invited to Portugal in the first place. And what were we doing there? Watching the sunset while drinking a glass of port! How fricking cool is that?????
P.S. Helpful Hints for members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the
https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
