FourLeg: Plan for Conservative Rx of MPL & A brachial plexus lesion

Published: Mon, 09/21/15

Keeping busy with zucchini, bacon, & teaching...
I am busy, busy, busy.  Next weekend, I'll be teaching (and organizing, and hosting) a course for the Animal Rehab Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.  This is always a fun course (Advanced Canine Rehab), but it is a TON of work to prepare for it... I think I'm on track with what I need to do, bring, buy, etc, etc... but still lots to do before next Friday!

And, the clinic move is coming up soon.  Everything is on schedule.  We still don't have a move date... but it'll likely be the 2nd or 3 week of October!  And we are having weekly draws to build excitement.  Last week one of the prizes was a zucchini loaf.  This week one prize is Chocolate Chip and BACON cookies!  (If you've not tried these, you really should!)  I've been a baking machine!!!  Next week, I'm NOT going to bake!

But now... onto YOU and your learning for the week!
Member's Learning: Video Training 125 -  Part ONE... A Plan for Conservative Management of Medial Patellar Luxation
Part one... because this ended up being another really long video... of Conservative Management of Patellar Luxation.  A plan for prevention or treatment of a grade 2 luxation, or any patellar luxation where surgery is not wanted or possible.  Might as well have a plan, right?

I'm fairly happy about this plan - based on human management and deductive reasoning pertaining to canine anatomical differences.

Here's how your find it... LOGIN, click Video Training and Scroll all the way down to Video Training 125!

Yes... it would only be professional to have a PLAN!!!
Blog: A brachial plexus lesion and questions about what to do now!

My patient is a 10 month old FS Labrador mix that jumped from a moving vehicle resulting in a brachial plexus partial or complete avulsion on the left side.  Originally she had no motor, but seemed to have some sensation there (difficult to tell b/c she is still very much a puppy).

So have a great week everyone!

Until next time... Cheers!

P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
P.S.  Don't forget...
Check out the Products page on www.FourLeg.com:  books, a poster, and courses.  And for members, check out the Discounts page after you log in!
