Bell's Palsy, more Bell's Palsy, Planting Trees, The new 'digs' & Senior Pet Month!
Mmm, Mmm Turkey & Pumpkin Pie!
We are safely tucked into the new clinic... finding more things every day (or rather noticing what things are missing, and looking through some of the unpacked boxes to find them).  Check out the video link below to see the 'virtual tour'

And we planted some trees this weekend to honour my son's friend that died while hiking a couple of weeks ago.  11 trees for two families to remember him by.  I'll put up a picture of one of our tree's in 'full ceremony' with the Miss Vickie's Salt & Vinegar chips / crisps (his favourite) along with a Remembrance Day poppy - for Nov 11th Remembrance Day & to honour the fact that the young man was also a cadet.  It was a rather nice little remembrance event, I must say.

And did you know that it's Senior Pet Month?  Great marketing opportunity to create some buzz for your clinic.  I dug out some old fabric (from the 80's) and dusted off my old sewing machine to create a bunch of little baggies that we have put dog cookies into - to hand out to our senior pets!

Anyways, enough of the chit-chat...  Onto YOU and your learning for the week!
Member's Training Videos 129: Treatment for Bell's Palsy
I hope you read through the newsletter posted just last week. Now this week, I put it all together for you as a PLAN for the treatment of Bell's Palsy.  (I had to film this 3 times... so my poor little dog has blue patches of gel all over her head right from the start of this video!)

Blog: A Facial Nerve case study

So, this is a Q & A about a dog with Facial Nerve Paralysis - Bell's Palsy.  There are some good thoughts and therapies tried by the vet that sent in the question.  And this Q & A is fabulous because there is a 1-month afterwards follow-up report on how the dog in question is doing now!  It's a fun little read!

P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
