Art... Wolf Dogs... & Ranchercise
Super interesting week!!!
So this week, started with a shipment finally arriving.  A picture for my human treatment room wall!  It's gorgeous.  The art was created by a physiotherapy from Ontario who paints with spray paint!! Most of her pictures are of anatomy, like the one I purchased below.  Check out her website:  www.artshopbynicole.com

As well, this week at the clinic, we had an intern from Toronto come to hang out with us.  She did her certification years ago, but was just looking for something to spark her interest & learning again, and so asked to come out and spend some time with us!  We had a great time with her as well.  It's so much fun to get to exchange ideas!  At the end of the week, I met up with her to go to the Yamnuska Wolf Dog Sanctuary - www.yamnuskawolfdogsanctuary.com - a very interesting place.  It's only 15 minutes from my house, but you know how it is... it takes a visitor to get you to go out and do the cool things available in your own back yard!!

Oh, one more thing!  You have to check out my youngest son and the video he did for his Sports Performance class.  It's called Ranchercise!  I know I'm biased, but it's pretty darn funny!  You can see it here on Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/cole.hughes.39/videos/879183592198056/  or click below.

Anyways, enough of the chit-chat...  On to YOUR learning for this week!

Members Video Training 137: Sensory Integration CASES
Now you have an idea of what Sensory Integration is, here is a video that gives you some case examples.  And as my former neurology professor once said, "if these techniques work on a neurologically compromised system, just think how well they might work on a normal nervous system".

This ought to be interesting!

Blog: Commentary on Sensory Integration
Hi Laurie I enjoyed your sensory integration lecture as it resonates with my feelings of what I find in animal practice. I wanted to remind you of the Tellington Touch wraps, which use ace bandages.

and more...

Hmmm... that looks interesting!

So have a great week everyone!

Until next time... Cheers!

Laurie

Repeat:  One last thing...
And I'm kind of afraid to even mention it...
But the Canine Fitness Centre is now open to Externships / Internships again. We are a good fit for Vets and PTs primarily (just because we don't have any techs on staff at the moment - thus a lot of what we see and do is manual diagnostics and manual therapies).  We really enjoy having in people that have been out practicing for a while.  We find that WE are equally stimulated by this interaction, and depth of discussion and conversation.  We offer a day rate or you can come for a 4 or 5 day stretch. (We can't take on longer internships however.  It tires us out too much... Sorry!)  Contact me for more info.  Laurie@CanineFitness.com

P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
