FourLeg: Stem Cells!

Published: Mon, 01/04/16

You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com.  If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom.  But for everyone else... HEY!  Let's get on with the show!
And away we go into 2016!
Cheers to the upcoming year!
Ahhhh, Christmas & New Year are over.  Thank goodness!  It always feels good getting back to normal. So, with this edition of my FourLeg e-blast, I have come to realize that I am entering my 5th year of FourLeg.com! Even I am blown away by that fact!  Thank you all for your interest in this area of practice and for your support!

On the home front, it has been nice having both boys at home.  They are so funny together, and they make us laugh with their antics.  I was going to film them tonight with their different styles of Star Wars light sabre activation methods (including leaps, between the legs, behind the back, etc).  We did go out for New Year's Eve - over to a neighbours barn party.  It was comical... but I really don't like staying out past 9 o'clock!  I'm that old!

At the clinic, I have officially opened my human treatment room & practice, Two Hands Physiotherapy.  It is just a way for our therapists to treat the occasional owner who asks us, 'Would this work on me?' (Seriously!!??  We get asked that!)  As well, there are some owners who have really fun things to treat.  When you've been in practice for a long time, there are things that you LOVE to treat over and above all others.  So adding a human treatment room that is accessible, but a separate entity will allow for that.  (It's been a lot of work to get it up and running, but I think all of the pieces are in place now!)

Anyways, enough of the chit-chat...  On to YOUR learning for this week!

Member's Newsletter: Stem Cells for Joints & Tendons
This topic has been requested over the years, and I have just gotten around to doing the literature now!  So, this newsletter is all about the research into Mesenchymal Stem Cells.  Check out what is known (in peer reviewed literature).

Blog: A Fibrocartilaginous Embolism Case

I am hoping you can offer some advice on an interesting case that I have...I have utilized everything that I have learned from class and your website but now need a bit of advanced advice

...

Take me to the BLOG!

And that Survey!
I hope my New Year's e-blast didn't interrupt your festivities!  (And if it did, shame on you for looking at e-mails while at a party!!!)

Okay, now to the survey.  So, I am looking to find out IF and HOW people are pricing packaging their rehab services.  I'm hoping to compile the info and share it with everyone as it might be of assistance to YOU in your decision making when thinking of pricing and packaging.

So have a great week everyone!

Until next time... Cheers!

One last thing...
And I'm kind of afraid to even mention it...
But the Canine Fitness Centre is now open to Externships / Internships again. We are a good fit for Vets and PTs primarily (just because we don't have any techs on staff at the moment - thus a lot of what we see and do is manual diagnostics and manual therapies).  We really enjoy having in people that have been out practicing for a while.  We find that WE are equally stimulated by this interaction, and depth of discussion and conversation.  We offer a day rate or you can come for a 4 or 5 day stretch. (We can't take on longer internships however.  It tires us out too much... Sorry!)  Contact me for more info.  Laurie@CanineFitness.com

P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
