You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! Weather is great up here (okay, up here and a little to the left... Western Canada is fabulous right now)! So I'm going to plant my garden & bedding out plants! What??! Yes, in Canada, this is crazy talk for this time of year! You never plant before the May long weekend! It
could still snow or at least freeze at night! I don't care! I'm doing it! It's been so nice! (Which means August will be dreadful!) AND, hubby and I learned how to compost successfully! I always thought it was a hoax that composting worked! Yep... dry stuff, water, chicken poo, and turning it twice a week, and voila, I have mountains of great compost! So I'm doing it! All week, in all my spare time, I'm going to garden! That's my
statement for the week! Bring it on 'Weather Gods'!
But in the mean time, here's your learning for this week!
Member's Training Video 143: First Rib-Myofascial-Scalenes Stuff...
|
So, I've been playing with a technique for the last 6 - 8 months... Myofascial holds for the treatment of first rib. I've been using them AFTER I do a first rib manip (or mobilization), but I've been playing with doing them first - to see if I can reduce that 'scream' or 'cry' that comes
with manual treatment of a first rib. Well I've found that in about 40 - 50% of the time I got rid of the rib issue with the myofascial stuff alone!! So I created this video to show you what I do. (And it's super easy!!!)

This week, the blog is a Question & Answer
"Hi Laurie, I have a patient (10 mo old boxer) who I think may have a patellar laxity. Not sure if traumatic method of injury or genetic (one of her other dogs has this too).
She doesn't have the typical
presentation, ie- no skipping or intermittent lameness with walks or trots. She is mainly off in mornings and after hyper play (which the owner is trying very hard to tame!)"

And I'd still love if those of you that work with or are technicians involved in rehab would fill out this survey! Especially if you're in a clinic with vets or PTs trained in rehab... (that was sort of the gist of the
question): How to better utilize techs in rehab. Thanks!
|
Head me off to the survey!
|
|
And that's a wrap! So have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
Laurie

P.S. Helpful Hints for members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the
https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of
the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
