JOIN ME!
And getting stuff done...
This week was mostly sunny and fabulous (weather-wise)!  I find that I'm so much happier and more productive when it's sunny and warm.  However, along comes our long weekend (Happy Victoria Day everyone!) and "BAM!" we've got snow!  Ah well, covered the plants again (most are doing well) and hunkered down inside.

The weather has actually been a good fortune, because I talked my husband into helping me paint the basement.  We're having a bathroom put in and the finishing... and while some walls were getting painted by the contractor, not all were getting done (at his rate $$).  And I started to worry that finishing down there would be like putting lipstick on a pig!!!  But we got the big family room done on Sunday - primed, 1st and 2nd coats.  And my right arm & shoulder was starting to ache, and I thought, 'I know, I'll do the second coat with my left arm!'  So I did it!  And I even impressed myself.  (And why you care... get good with your non-dominate hand, you will need it for palpating or mobilizing that side of a dog or painting one day!  So go out there and inspire your self to be Non-Dominantly skilled!  Join me in the NON-DOMINANT functional capabilities movement!  (I just made it up!)

At the clinic this past week, we had a fabulous intern from Colorado.  Her goal was to learn more manual therapy... and sure enough, that's what we could provide!  Man o man, we see so many cases with spine, pelvis, or rib issues.  Spinal manual therapy is an absolute staple in our practice.  In fact, I'd say that it should be a mandatory part of canine rehab practice. (To be done with both your dominant and non-dominant hands!)

And I've created a flyer for my human physiotherapy practice.  We are targeting Dog Groomers with aches and pains in their shoulder.  One of my 'human therapists created the content... but I envisioned an eye-catching front cover.  I've included one of the cover pictures just for fun!!!

And this upcoming week, I'll be heading out to Victoria, British Columbia (west coast of Canada - nice warm, sunny...) for a physiotherapy conference.  There will be lots of networking, some meetings, and hopefully some enlightening talks that I can share with you!

Anyways, enough of the chit-chat...  On to YOUR learning for this week!

Blog:  I don't know yet!
This blog is just an all out cut and paste of another blog I found.  I heard about this movement and I’m passing it along as it pertains to all of us – human PT’s and those doing ‘physio’, ‘PT’, & rehab on animals.  Join the movement!
Cheers!  Laurie

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
