You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! Beluga Whales are amazing (and they feel like eggplants)! WOW! The Beluga Whale watching trip was fabulous! (Check out the video below, all of the white things that looks like the cresting of a wave are actually Beluga whales - grey ones are babies!) It was just a two day mini vacation, but we did a boat watching tour, kayaked with them, and even snorkelled! I thought my lips would fall off snorkelling, the water was so cold! My
favourite was the kayaking. You are so close to the water, and the belugas come right near to the kayaks. I was just sitting in the kayak watching the water and my son said, "Hey Mom, I just pet a Beluga Whale!" He said wiggle your fingers in the water, they like that! So I did and sure enough, one came right up to my kayak, popped its head out of the water and looked at me briefly. I had a split second to decide if I wanted to take a picture or touch it. So I
reached out with one finger and touched it on the head. It was squishy and soft but not as smooth as I expected. In fact, it felt like the inside of an eggplant! Wow, just wow! All of this was possible in Churchill, Manitoba (in the middle of nowhere - you can only get their by plane, train, or boat - there are no roads in or out!) The company we traveled with (http://www.classiccanadiantours.com) also runs a polar bear tour that I want to go on one day as well! Magical!
But on with the week - and it's going to be a busy one coming up! My borzoi breeder is moving in with me (okay, she's moving into my field with access to my basement in her motor home, along with 7 dogs)! Call me crazy! She
sold her house and possession date is Friday. She's not found anywhere else to buy yet, and I said "If you need somewhere to park your motorhome temporarily, just let me know!" I'm sure I'll have stories about that next week!
Anyhoo... enough chitter-chatter, here's your learning for this week!

READ ME some KNOWLEDGE!

This week, the blog is a Q & A about traction... Over the last week and a half I have had a run on sesamoid bone fractures! How many is a run? TWO! Yes, I have recently seen two of these cases. Over the course of my career (now 25 years), I have only seen 4 in total. So, seeing two so close together is a
‘run’!

PS Hey Members, sign up on the FORUM
|
Okay, so I had some questions about about the Forum, and I thought that I should pass on the info to everyone. - The Forum is located on the Members' side of FourLeg, so you'll need to login to find it. Then look over to the right hand column where you normally look up the content, and at the bottom, you'll find Forum. Click it!
- Now, to get on, you need to sign up with a NEW username and password. (Password can be the same as what you you to get into the Member's area). Next time you want 'in', it should remember you.
- Pick a user name that you want to be seen.
- Answer questions. Post questions.
- Sign your posts please... It's nice to reply to a
person by name!
- If you want to post a document or a picture, you can drag it into the message box or scroll down, click attachments, and then 'add files'.
- Videos... I'm still figuring it out. So far, I'd suggest uploading to Youtube, and then posting the link.
And get on there and engage with the community!

P.S. Hey Everyone, check out the search-ability of the BLOG!
P.S. Helpful Hints for members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the
https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of
the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
