So, instead of telling you about my week in past tense, I will tell you in present tense, that as you are reading this I am kayaking with Beluga Whales in Churchill, Manitoba with my youngest son! How fricking cool is that??!! How this came about it that because of the terrorist attacks in Europe, and the Zika virus in South America, the school division has cancelled all school trips this year and next. This means that my
youngest son misses out on experiencing a life changing, mind expanding trip like his brother got to do. (In grade 12, my oldest son went on a 10 day trip to Europe where they saw all things as they pertained to Canada's role in the two World Wars.) In an effort to give my youngest son some 'bonus' life experiences I've told him that we will go on a couple of interesting trips, with just he and one parent at a time. I'm paying, so I get to go first, and I found this
amazing trip. It's a really short trip (just 2 days), but how many folks can say that they kayaked with Beluga Whales?!
And a survey question for you to help with some research... check it out below!
Okay, okay... lots to share this week!
On to YOUR learning for this week!

Blog: What is the ENERGY in your Medicine?
|
This week I had some interesting discussions with my clients. They started with, “So, you don’t have anyone shadowing you this week!”
Now we don’t have tons of interns, but we do likely have more than average. As well, we don’t mind having interns, but it does change the dynamics within the clinic and the appointments. What was interesting about my conversations this week is what the dog owners
noticed!

Do you do acupuncture? Your input is requested please! |
Dear veterinary acupuncturist,
Colorado State University would like to invite you to fill out a brief online survey in order to help design a study evaluating the effectiveness of acupuncture for the treatment of osteoarthritis-associated pain in dogs. The goal of the survey is to
create a protocol that is most likely to demonstrate a difference in objective outcome measures (including client questionnaires, gait analysis, accelerometry). The survey questions are related to selection of specific acupuncture points and protocols used for the treatment of osteoarthritis in dogs.
We would greatly appreciate if you could take the time to take the survey. All of your responses are anonymous and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to
complete. To be redirected to the survey please click here or on this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7F2KGYM.
For further questions please contact us directly (emails listed
below)!
Kind regards and thanks for your input! Theresa Wendland, DVM (theresa.wendland@colostate.edu) Felix Duerr, DVM, MS, DECVS, DACVS, DACVSMR (felix.duerr@colostate.edu) Colorado State University Small Animal

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on
the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white
search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
