Happy 'back to normal'!
Is it wrong to be happy that things will get back to a normal schedule?
I know I shouldn't wish summer away... and I'm not, but I am happy to have things get back to normal in regards to schedules and activities. And I look forward to not mowing the lawn!!
My updates in point form:
  • So my youngest son went back to school (grade 12) and Football season has started!  Wee, I love watching him play Football.
  • The oldest son moved back into Residence at the University of Calgary on Sunday.  He got into Civil Engineering and starts his second year on the 12th (so he has a full week of 'pre-studying' or whatever university students get up to now a days!)
  • I am working hard to organize the Advanced Canine Rehab course up here for our Canadian Animal Rehab Division.  (Organizing dogs, manuals, paperwork, etc, etc)  The course is the weekend after next!  Busy busy busy!

Anyhoo... enough about me, here's your learning for this week!

But first, a cartoon!

Member's FOURLEG NEWS: VOLUME 5: ISSUE 5
This week, it's time for the next FourLeg Newsletter!  I hope you'll like this one.  I four 4 great articles on acupuncture - a review of what works, a comparison between myofascial trigger points and acupuncture, a paper that look at meridians (and what are they), and another that looks at mechanical signalling as a result of stimulating a needle.

The left side of my brain was very happy to find these papers!  Enjoy!

Blog: As a rehab professional, shouldn't you be prescribing better sleep?
Last Monday, I woke up with neck pain.  I woke to find myself sleeping on my stomach with my head turned to the side (and a pillow overtop in order to minimize the sound of my husband snoring).  Well what started out as stiffness soon turned into angry nerve pain, and I subsequently did everything I could that day to try to settle it down.  But more to the point of this blog… I noted that my sleep was affected for days afterwards.  I couldn’t get comfortable, and moving from side to side was painful. So my pain-sleep experience sparked a desire to blog on this under-discussed topic in canine rehab and physiotherapy: Sleep and pain.

(Please read the blog & send me your thoughts too!)

And I'm still trying to make things better!
This past week I also created a HELP page.  I had made plenty of document to answer questions when people e-mailed, and so I just bit the bullet and put everything onto a page.  Hopefully it's helpful for everyone when you have question or things go awry!

And that's a wrap!  So have a great week everyone!

Until next time... Cheers!

Laurie

Sign up for a Month... cancel at any time... And just see what you think!  There's so much more than you can even imagine in the learning area!!  You really should check it out!  Click on the link to go to the Sneak Peek page and see the listing of content!

P.S. Helpful Hints for members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
