Life update...
So my friend / Borzoi breeder living in my basement took possession of her new house last Friday.  She's still with me because now she has to fit an large house, acreage worth of 'stuff', her dog kennel, and business into the postage stamp of a house & yard that she purchased.  So far, this has required no work or effort on the part of me or my family... but it's coming.  She doesn't realize that there are about 10 vehicle loads of 'stuff' at my house that will need to go to town.  As such, I have that feeling of impending doom, where at the drop of a hat all chaos could let loose!

To dampen my thoughts about the inevitable fluster to come, hubby and I have been fully immersed in the Game of Thrones series.  We watched the first season back when the Olympics were on (and one local TV station had the first season on as a way to attract viewers who might be looking for something other than Olympic coverage).  Well, we got hooked.  So I ordered the DVD series - seasons 1 - 5... and subsequently, we've been potatoes most nights - just sitting on the couch watching 1 - 2 episodes a night!!!  We're on season 5.  So there is a light at the end of the tunnel, that we can get back into productivity mode after that!

Random recommendation:  You MUST try the Bulletproof recipe for coffee!  Just add butter (or ghee) and MCT oil, then blend!  OMG, I'm addicted!  Google it!

Okay, enough about me.  Now on to YOUR learning for this week!  But first...

Blog:  Literature Review - Radiation for Elbow OA!!!
This week, I came across an interesting research paper that I wanted to share:

Effect of single dose radiation therapy on weight-bearing lameness in dogs with elbow osteoarthritis.

Introduction:
Low dose radiation therapy has been used to treat degenerative disorders in humans, and has been used in horses as well.  Radiotherapy is not well understood, however studies report low dose radiotherapy to have a direct anti-inflammatory effect on articular tissues, which leads to reductions in bone loss, synovial proliferation, signs of pain, and nitric oxide production.

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
