My week in review:

As I write this (Friday evening), everyone has been shopped for!  All the baking has been done.  Presents are wrapped.  Both kids are home and being silly and loud playing video games together in the basement. Enjoyment of wine has commenced (actually I went off my diet as of 5pm Thursday afternoon when I ate chocolates at the clinic).  And, because I'm writing this a couple days ahead of schedule... hopefully I can say 'FourLeg content this week is taken care of!"  So, it's just a matter of enjoying time with my hubby and kids now!

We have been spoiled by clients at my clinic... wonderful gifts of chocolate and baking, an awesome dog water bowl stand / holder, oh, and some chicken charms to 'bedazzle' my chickens (to help tell them apart) too!

Up until Thursday I was being so good about my diet.  I wasn't eating any of the candy.  But I did decide to put one of each kind into a ziploc baggie and take it home for the weekend when I was planning to be gluttonous!  However, the rescue Borzoi has taken to searching the house in the middle of the night to find food left out on the counter or table.  Long story short, she ate my baggie of goodies!  I was so disappointed by this, that I said 'To Heck with this Die't on Thursday at work!  (And it's all down hill until Tuesday!)

And lastly, we have been doing the work to implement some business 'key performance indicator' software and create some of the documents & lists needed to get things going.  We'll start with check lists for the front desk staff / assistants, and also a Report of Findings document for therapist to hand out to new clients after an initial assessment.  It's a lot of work, but hopefully it will help to get systems in place to help retain clients and manage the clinic more efficiently.  I also had an assessment done on our % of calls answered (if my staff is reading this... remember all of those wrong number calls?  Apologies!  But this is what it was about!).  I'll fill you in next week on our results!

Anyhoo... enough about me!  Onto you and your learning for this week!

But first, a cartoon!

Member's Learning - What's new for treating cruciate disease?
HERE'S WHAT IT WILL BE!  But as luck would have it, the audio is not uploading properly... and as I try to do this (on Christmas Day), my web-guy is surprisingly 'off-line'! :)  So, apologies... but here's what's coming later this week when my web-guy gets back to me!

This AUDIO is courtesy of Dr. David Lane, DVM. David approached me about creating some content for FourLeg based on recent research being presented at different conferences, etc.
I thought it was a great idea and a great learning opportunity for FourLeg members.

He has a dry (and often sarcastic) Canadian sense of humour... so listen carefully to pick up the odd zinger!

So THIS audio is about new options available for the treatment of cruciate tears / cruciate disease.

Members, Login, then click on AUDIO, and scroll way down to the bottom, click on What's New In Cruciate Treatment.

NEW info! And someone NEW to listen to as well!

Blog: Managing Depression & Anxiety This Time of Year
Okay... so not my typical blog post, and not my typical topic.  However, I have had a number of discussions and e-mails regarding depression and anxiety, that I just wanted to share them.  And since Christmas (and the shortest day of the year for those of us in the northern hemisphere) is a particularly difficult time, I thought that I might as well throw it up for you to read today!

Enjoy your holidays everyone and be kind to yourself!
