Proprioception! My week in review:
Recently, we did an Employee Satisfaction survey at my clinic. I have to admit that I was a tad bit nervous! However, the information gleaned was / will be quite useful! I'd
recommend doing this to other business owners!
I finished listening to (and am re-listening to) a book on CD: Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek. I love this guy! Check him out on YouTube to hears some of his talks. Anyways, it is a awesome book in regards to leading a team and creating a strong workplace culture. It is so important for people in positions of power to understand the difference between management &
leadership!!
As well, we had a staff meeting. We didn't have much on the agenda, but it was great as there were lots of questions and discussions.
All in all, I felt very warm and fuzzy about my clinic and the people in it this week!
P.S. As I write this (on Sunday), it's hubby & my 23rd Wedding Anniversary! No Hawaii for us this year (two kids in post-secondary school starting next
year is going to affect budgeting for a few years), but we are going dog-sledding tomorrow as a family... so I'll try to get an 'anniversary' photo then! (Hopefully without a naked son in the background this time!!!)
But enough about me, onto you and your learning this week!
Member's Training Video 155 - A Home-Made Rear End Harness
|
Do It Yourself CRAFTING DAY!
Right off the bat, I want to say that I love the Help Em Up Harnesses. They are simply awesome. But if the dog only needs support for a short term or immediately, or
just for the rear end in either of those two situations, then I have a suggestion for you. Some of you have heard me talk about this before and some of you have maybe done this yourself... but I thought it would be helpful to provide a wee video on how to make your own rear end harness.

I like this blog! Yep, I can be biased! I like this blog because the inspiration for it made me think! And because when it was posted to my Facebook page, it elicited comments & discussion. I like that! So, firstly, the article stated that Researchers at The Ohio
State University Wexner Medical Center found that regaining full function after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is more than just physical—it requires retraining the brain. Essentially, parts of the brain associated with leg movement lag behind during recovery from ACL injury as determined by brain activity scans while a person flexed & extended the knee (comparing normal adults and those with ACL injuries). The brain simply didn’t process the information from the
knee correctly.
The brain scans showed that instead of relying on movement or spatial awareness...
