You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! I've created a holy fire-storm of reactions! My week in review:
Last weekend, my clinic office manager asked me if I had anything written out in regards to why I don't recommend the Sit Pretty exercise. I said I hadn't, but
that it would make a good blog and that I write it up. So I spend most of Monday afternoon writing the blog and putting together the resources / literature list from which I based my opinion. I uploaded it to my Canine Fitness Centre blog and sent out an e-blast on Wednesday. One of my clients posted it onto the FB page Canine Conditioning & Body Awareness Exercise group early Wednesday morning... and I spent the entire rest of the day defending my position and commenting
on some crazy accusations (in amongst a number of positive reviews as well, mind you)! I'm also happy that a few of the industry's other thought leaders commented or messaged me with support and praise. Anyways, the whole thing has pretty much consumed the free hours of my week.
So, to round things out, (and this was my plan all along), I have made the original article my
FourLeg blog for this week. Only on this blog I added an addendum to further elucidate my thoughts on the topic and address some of the commentary arising from the original blog.
I'm serious about potential death threats however! It appears that some people love this exercise more than any other training trick in their training arsenal, and I am rocking the boat like
crazy!
And I've got a mind exploding FourLeg Newsletter for Members this month. The neurological update edition!
So let's just get on with the show this week!

Blog: Don't Sit Pretty - Expanded Viewpoint!

Be prepared to love it or hate it...
It has been 13 years since I first saw this exercise described and promoted, and at the time, my gut feeling was that I didn’t like it. But I didn’t know why. Over the last 13 years, I’ve come across research that has helped to reinforce why it might not be the best
exercise. It’s taken me this long to think about it, compile some evidence to support my thoughts, and because I was asked to write out my rationale by a colleague, only now am I speaking out in a very public forum.
I do not recommend ‘Sit Pretty’ as an exercise. Here’s why:
