Too many things to do...

OMG... the Endless pool is in the building now!  What chaos!  So now we build a ramp and a step down into the water, put back up a wall, take down another wall, source water, do electrical & learn how to use the darn thing!  (And I talk as if I'm the one doing any of that... NOT!)  But it does mean 'disruption in the clinic' for a little while longer!  Oh, and I forgot 'hire another staff member' who will be the one swimming the dogs!  So, add 'reading resumes' to my to do list!

It has been a busy few weeks of appointments and 'gotta do' type of things as well:  Purchasing items that my youngest son will need for College, dental appointment, hair cut, making follow up appointments for his knee, his arm, and my abdomen, sorting out everything I need to get a travel Visa to go to Brazil (in November)... and there's lots to do / collect for that (Photos, Affidavits, copying of bank stuff & tax stuff, vaccinations, etc, etc)!!  It's all coming at the same time!

All in all, it's not a restful summer!  I don't want to wish it away... but I wish it wasn't so busy!  However it looks like this is how it'll be for the rest of August.  Both boys leave home on Aug 27th, and I think we'll be running like mad men right up to and including that day!

But enough about me, onto YOUR learning for this week!

But first, a cartoon!

BLOG: Cryosaunas, what we know & thoughts on use with dogs...
Snow Dog
I was asked an interesting question.  Do I know of anyone who has used cryostimulation (aka. cryosauna technology / whole body cryotherapy / partial body cryotherapy) on a dog?  The short answer is ‘no’.  But I wanted to look up the research a bit more to see what kind of validation the practice had, or not!

So, I hit pubmed and found the following recent review paper:

Bouzigon R. et al.  Whole- and partial-body cryostimulation / cryotherapy: Current technologies and practical applications.  J Therm Biol 61, Oct 2016: 67 – 81.

Here are the highlights...

P.S. Are you looking to include SHOCKWAVE in your practice?
I have just the thing!  I highly recommend the unit that I have and use at my clinic.  And now, I can bring it to you!

Check out this page:  http://fourleg.com/Shockwave   for more information.

And if you're interested, give me a shout and I'll happily send along all of the details.
RADIAL SHOCKWAVE rules!  I am loving it as an adjunct to my other therapies, and am seeing amazing results with it when used on osteoarthritis, tendinosis lesions, and lumbosacral disc disease.  (There are more things it can treat, but these three things keep it hopping at my clinic!)

The price is right (in Canadian Dollars), and I can ship anywhere in North America.  (For those of you overseas, I can put you in touch with local distributors nearer to you!)

Okay... so check it out if you've ever been interested!
Read More about this kick-butt Radial Shockwave Unit!

And don't forget about those courses in California in October...

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members...
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar:
http://www.fourleg.com
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!

As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site.  This is an easy way to find content in all formats!

And check out www.fourleg.com/Help to address any FAQ regarding website or membership difficulties.
