You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! So much to learn on FourLeg...
Have you told your colleagues and classmates about it yet? (Please do! There are so many
practitioners that would find it useful. Don't let the learning stop!)
I have been up to my eyeballs busy! So, if you have been trying to reach me, I apologize. I must have at least 500 e-mails I should be sorting through.
My project with Canine Exercise Solutions
is getting close to launching! It will be FourLeg Exercise Solutions... and has way more exercises than their previous platform! Stay tuned!
Update on the boys, they are having a wonderful time in their respective post-secondary schools already. One successfully organized a 'bubble-soccer' tournament (you know when you are inside of the bubbles, and only your legs stick out.) And the other one won a dance
contest!
On a more serious note, my heart goes out to everyone affected by the hurricanes. There are no words, simply no words. I wish you all safety and wellness. And closer to home, thoughts are also with the folks that have been displaced or have lost homes in the forest fires running rampant up. Crazy weather! Stay safe my friends! |
Onto YOUR learning for this week!

BLOG: Are you defined by the technique? |
|
A blog recently came across my desk.
It started out like this: “I am a physical therapist. I am a physical therapist who uses manual therapy. One who uses exercise in many forms. I use pain neuroscience and specific treatments to address persistent pain (PNE, graded
motor imagery, graded activity and exposure). I dry needle. I use heat, ice and, hell, sometimes I might use ultrasound. However, the most important clinical “technique” of all: the reasoning on how, when and why I use them.”
And it hit home! I harp about this....

ROUND TWO... the College of Veterinarians of Ontario is moving forwards with the proposed changes to their Vet Act. For the most part, I support and applaud them on this enormous effort. However, they have continued to use wording (particularly in the Authorized Activities section) that could hinder or even prevent physiotherapists from practicing animal rehab. The CVO is again seeking input and has
created a survey for people to do just that.
Please have a look at the information I am presenting on the subject (on behalf of the Animal Rehab Division) at: http://www.caninefitness.com/index.php?pid=63 and voice your opinion. There is
a link to the CVO survey and a guideline to help you fill out their survey as well.
Please & Thank you!

P.S. Are you looking to include SHOCKWAVE in your practice?
|
I have just the thing! I highly recommend the unit that I have and use at my clinic. And now, I can bring it to you!
And if you're interested, give me a shout and I'll happily send along all of the details. RADIAL SHOCKWAVE rules! I am loving it as an adjunct to my other therapies, and am seeing amazing results with it when used on osteoarthritis, tendinosis lesions, and lumbosacral disc disease. (There are more things it can treat, but these three things keep it hopping
at my clinic!)
The price is right (in Canadian Dollars), and I can ship anywhere in North America. (For those of you overseas, I can put you in touch with local distributors nearer to you!)
Okay... so check it out if you've ever been interested!

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on
the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side
of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
And check out www.fourleg.com/Help to address any FAQ regarding website or membership
difficulties.
