You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!!
So fun! This year, I told both boys to invite any of their friends from residence (that live too far away from home to be going home for Thanksgiving) to come out for Thanksgiving Dinner. So we had a bunch of 'starving' College/University kids join us. It meant it wasn't a pot
luck dinner. My husband and I did ALL the cooking and ALL the work... but this crowd was pretty easy to please (i.e. It wasn't Pizza)!!!
And the young man living in the basement heads off to Antarctica for 4 months on Wednesday! Bucket list opportunity of a life time!
And HEY! If you have a cool case, or a neat technique, or a novel exercise, please film it and share it with me. I am still looking for more content creators. I know that many of you are doing some really great things! Share your discoveries, tips, and cases! I'd love to showcase other great therapists out there! |
But enough about me, onto YOUR learning for this week!

BLOG: Manual Therapy – An Up and Coming Topic in Canine Rehabilitation… Give me a Break! |
|
Seriously! Since when did manual therapy become NEW in Canine Rehab?? A recent advertisement for a course deemed manual therapy to be ‘the hottest up and coming topic’ in canine rehabilitation. That just had me fuming!!! Furthermore, the program states that they were going to certify people in Canine Manual Therapy. If you took training in
canine rehabilitation and didn’t learn the fundamentals of manual therapy… then you went to the wrong place to train!!! If you’ve been practicing canine rehabilitation and not doing manual therapy, then you’ve been failing your patients!

I'm excited to share these:
1) I've been listening to an excellent audio book: The Brain's Way of Healing by Norman Doidge, MD. It's a fabulous discussion about neuroplasticity and the brain. He has an earlier book as well, The Brain that Changes
Itself. I recommend both (even though I've not listened to the one yet)!! I use Audiobooks.com.
3) And a while back my business partner
sourced a website that was able to get / give access for a number of different journals. It might not have them all, but maybe 50% is better than 0%. Worth a shot, if you don't have library access to source articles: http://sci-hub.io/
|
So have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!

P.S. Are you looking to include SHOCKWAVE in your practice?
|
I have just the thing! I highly recommend the unit that I have and use at my clinic. And now, I can bring it to you!
And if you're interested, give me a shout and I'll happily send along all of the details. RADIAL SHOCKWAVE rules! I am loving it as an adjunct to my other therapies, and am seeing amazing results with it when used on osteoarthritis, tendinosis lesions, and lumbosacral disc disease. (There are more things it can treat, but these three things keep it hopping
at my clinic!)
The price is right (in Canadian Dollars), and I can ship anywhere in North America. (For those of you overseas, I can put you in touch with local distributors nearer to you!)
Okay... so check it out if you've ever been interested!

And don't forget about those courses in California in October...
P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on
the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side
of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
And check out www.fourleg.com/Help to address any FAQ regarding website or membership
difficulties.
