You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! Home from Brazil and mountains of catching up to do!
Brazil treated me very well. From the wonderful food, friendly people, the Caipirinhas, the beautiful country-side and beaches. All in all it was a lovely time! And thank you to my hosts!
This week there are some great question & answers on the FourLeg Forum. My apologies for not being as active as I normally am on the Forum. 2-weeks away from home has made it difficult to get to my 'regular duties'.
And the blog this week is particularly thought provoking. I'm using a discussion
between a fellow physio and myself in regards to whether or not dogs actually 'have a core', or 'need core stability'. It was a very interesting question, and so I wanted to share it with everyone (hence turning it into my blog this week.) I would welcome FourLeg Members to chime in on the discussion on the Forum (where I posted the discussion as well.) I know it's going to ruffle some feathers, but sometimes that's needed in order to progress or advance or bring about
new thoughts and theories. Either way... enjoy the read and some advanced thinking!
And, Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Enjoy family, food, and festivities in the upcoming week!

BLOG: Does the dog actually need 'core stability'? |
|
This week's blog is a Q & A Discussion:
Hi Laurie. I have attended many of your courses when you have been in the UK and wondered if you could answer a simple question. Does 'core stability exist in the dog' and if so is it
relevant?
I am a spinal physio by background and have read masses of research on core stability in humans and because we humans are upright and have a narrow base of support it makes sense we need a strong centre of gravity.
However, is this true in the
dog? ...

P.S. Are you looking to include SHOCKWAVE in your practice?
|
I have just the thing! I highly recommend the unit that I have and use at my clinic. And now, I can bring it to you!
And if you're interested, give me a shout and I'll happily send along all of the details. RADIAL SHOCKWAVE rules! I am loving it as an adjunct to my other therapies, and am seeing amazing results with it when used on osteoarthritis, tendinosis lesions, and lumbosacral disc disease. (There are more things it can treat, but these three things keep it hopping
at my clinic!)
The price is right (in Canadian Dollars), and I can ship anywhere in North America. (For those of you overseas, I can put you in touch with local distributors nearer to you!)
Okay... so check it out if you've ever been interested!

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW members... |
If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having any issues with watching the videos, you will want to cut and paste the following url into your browser bar: http://www.fourleg.com Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the website (https:), and takes them to the site via that prefix... but the rest of the pages aren't secured, only the sign up page... and if you go to watch the videos on
the https:... site, then it won't allow you to watch them. So going to the http:// version will make everything turn out okay!!!
As members, If you are wanting to search a topic... then locate the white search bar in upper right hand side
of the screen when you log in & are on the members' side of the site. This is an easy way to find content in all formats!
And check out www.fourleg.com/Help to address any FAQ regarding website or membership
difficulties.
