And a staff shuffle!!

As I type this, I am exhausted (again)!

It has been a crazy week... filled with all sorts of ups and downs. Lots of staffing drama.  I'll let you read more about it in this week's blog... and what I've learned from it so far!

Next weekend, I'm in Toronto teaching for the Animal Rehab Division (Canada).  It will be great to catch up with a great group of practitioners!

Okay, enough about me, let's just get on with your learning this week!

But first, a cartoon!

Vestibulitis Left Overs

Vestibulitis Left Overs
I chose this for your educational instalment today because I had the opportunity to see an older chocolate lab with geriatric vestibulitis on Saturday.  He had been hospitalized for 3 days, given anti-nausea drugs, but had minimal improvement.  Two Epley Maneuvers, and he walked out of the clinic!!  Okay... so that's great.  When I see him next, here are some of the things I should look at and/or treat!

Blog: Facing Challenges
Life Lessons
Here’s what I learned this week.   There is a saying “Fire Fast, Hire Slow”.   This week challenged me on both of these fronts.  We had a mass staff upheaval at my clinic this week.  Long story short, in less than 48 hours, I lost two employees, gained one back, fired another, and hired two more.

When poop hit the fan, I immediately went onto Facebook to scroll through my contacts to see who I knew (that actually lives in the country, let alone Calgary & area) that might be right to bring onboard...

Click below to continue onto the blog.  Read about my story, and how it applies to you clinically as well...

SHARING MY BLOGS!  My web-guy reformatted the blogs, so that they can be shared more easily as individual blogs.  PLEASE feel free to share any blogs that you'd like on your own Facebook page or Twitter feed!   Permission granted!!! :)

Forum info
Okay, so I had some questions about about the Forum, and I thought that I should pass on the info to everyone.
  1. The Forum is located on the Members' side of FourLeg, so you'll need to login to find it.  Then look over to the right hand column where you normally look up the content, and at the bottom, you'll find Forum.  Click it!
  2. Now, to get on, you need to sign up with a NEW username and password. (Password can be the same as what you you to get into the Member's area). Next time you want 'in', it should remember you.
  3. Pick a user name that you want displayed.
  4. Answer questions.  Post questions.
  5. Sign your posts please... It's nice to reply to a person by name!
  6. If you want to post a document or a picture, you can drag it into the message box or scroll down, click attachments, and then 'add files'.
  7. Videos... Upload to Youtube and then post the link.
  8. It's really cool when you sign your name, that way people can respond to you by name.  :)
And get on there and engage with the community!
