You are receiving this e-blast because you signed up for these e-blasts on FourLeg.com. If for some reason, this makes you unhappy... then unsubscribe at the bottom. But for everyone else... HEY! Let's get on with the show! Oh the Salmon I have eaten!!!! I've had a wonderful time in Norway! As you will be reading this, I will be flying home on my 13 hour journey back to Calgary, from Trondheim, Norway! The food was
wonderful! (I ate salmon & seafood every day!) The sights were fabulous! (Check out Trondheim...old part of town and the view from above.) And the people were friendly (I got to experience dog racing with bicycles, push bikes, wheeled carts, and even running. AND dinner in a Norwegian home!). Oh yes, I would definitely come back here!!!
On the
home front... my husband tells me that 'Shower Chicken' has missed me, but he has been trying to spend a little time with her every day. Or he makes my sons go out and talk to her or feed her. She's a human-chicken now!
Okay, enough about me, let's just get on with your learning this week!

Blog: Ways your practice has grown from in the past… or are you still in the past?? |
|
This blog is inspired by another great Mike Reinold, PT, podcast. In this issue, the question was about things that practitioners regretted doing or couldn’t believe that they used to do in the past.
Some of the answers were:
- Being ‘tunnel-visioned’ about techniques and not learning from other industries (i.e. customer service principles, motivation techniques, connecting with
people).
- Don’t make assumptions about what people want. Talk to them to understand their priorities and goals.
- Be okay with saying “I don’t know” and be okay to try thing out and
look things up. Clients respect it (especially when you follow up)!
- (etc....)
So, it sparked me to think about MY career and what I’ve learned over the past number of years in treating canine patients. •
- The relationship with the pet’s owner is AS important as the therapy you do for the dog.
- (etc...)

For over a year now, I've been working with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a prescription exercise website for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's
a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
