Blog: Off-Season Protective Tendon Training for Canine Athletes
|
|
Based on last week’s blog about “Preventing the 7 Deadly Sins of Tendon Management”, I am happy to bring you (my first draft of) Baseline Protective Tendon
Training for Canine Athletes.
So, it is perhaps a fallacy that athletes need a total ‘rest period’ from training. Yes, a rest from intensive training, but perhaps a total rest from training can do more harm than good when it comes to
keeping tendons (and muscles and ligaments) strong. The following is a listing of exercises that I believe all sporting dogs should do during their “off season”.

For over a year now, I've been working with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a prescription exercise website for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises.
There's so much! Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
