Today I am in beautiful Santa Barbara, California teaching for www.AtlasRehabforCanines.com. I love coming here!! I just finished up two days of Basic Manual Therapy for the Canine Spine, and am midway through the Craniosacral-Myofascial Release Course!
Last week was crazy busy. One
of the highlights was doing an oral presentation in front of the (Canadian) National Energy Board. A pipeline company wants to add another pipeline across our land, and they want us to sign off based on compensation alone without allowing us to view a construction agreement. (Sort of like buying a used car without seeing it or having a mechanical inspection done...) Anyways, I think I nailed it! Made the pipeline company look bad... which is good for us in getting them to
treat us with a little more respect than they've been showing us so far!
And next Friday and Saturday, I'm lecturing for the Australia Canine Rehab Association ( https://www.caninerehabassociation.com.au/)! ... From the comfort of my basement!!! Pants optional!! Fingers crossed that technology will be our
friend! |

This blog was inspired by a conversation with my newest staff therapist. She had a case come in from a local shelter. It was a 3-year-old dog who had had a Femoral Head and Neck Excision 10 weeks ago. The chart notes indicated that the dog was receiving ‘physio’ in-house at
the shelter but that because he was not happy being touched that they were doing ‘hands-off physio’. Hmmm… So, the dog was referred to us because they figured he needed a “real physio assessment”. (That quote is real!) Read on...

Okay, there are always some questions about about the Forum, and I thought that I should pass on the info to everyone. - To get on, you need to sign up with a NEW username and password. (Password can be the same as what you you to get into the Member's area). Next time you want 'in', it should remember you.
- Pick a user name that you want to be seen.
- Answer questions. Post questions.
- Sign your posts please... It's nice to reply to a person by name!
- If you want to post a document or a picture, you can drag it into the message box or scroll down, click attachments, and then 'add files'.
- Videos... Upload to Youtube, and then posting the link.
- Want to be notified when someone answers your question or responded to your comment? Just under the reply box, you can click "notify me when a reply is posted".
And get on there and engage with the community!

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies,
exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted,
because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)

P.S. Helpful Hints for NEW Members...
1. If you are new to FourLeg and happen to be having issues with watching the videos, you will
want to cut and paste the following URL into your browser bar:
Sometimes after people sign up on the secure page on FourLeg, their computer remembers the secure address for the
website (i.e. https:// etc), and it takes them to the site with THAT prefix. The rest of the site isn't 'secured, only the sign up page. So, the website thinks you are trying to watch a video from unauthorized site.
2. As a member, if you want to search a particular topic, then find the little white
search bar on the upper right hand corner of the page (after you log in as a member). Type in your search and be given a full listing of content related to your search words!
3. And, if you have any issues, check out WWW.FOURLEG.COM/Help to address any FAQs regarding the website or membership difficulties!
