And FourLeg Resources for Hips!
This week's updates:
We saw the endocrinologist this past week. Not the neuroendocrine surgical specialist - my husband's tumour is inoperable. All in all, he didn't tell us anything we didn't know... because I had already researched the heck out of this! And I ordered the test results. Anyways, they are sending him for two additional tests - an EKG to see if this thing has affected his heart and then an Octreoscan, where they inject radioactive
octreotide (the drug he'll be put on) to see what all areas light up, so we know to where all this thing has metastasized. Those will happen this month. They're also then putting him on octreotide which will suppress the production of serotonin that his tumours are producing. It's an expensive drug ($2500/shot/given once a month), but my extended healthcare coverage will cover 80%, and a subsidiary of the drug company (that wants people to be able to access this drug) will
cover 50% of the remaining amount! Amazing! So, that's all good! The first vial arrives on Wednesday, and then the 'injection clinic nurses' will come out and administer it. And that's all that they can do for him right now! They don't need to see him back for 6 months! Additionally, we have a phone consultation with an oncologic naturopath on Wednesday this week to see what else or what different we can be doing at home. I'm also planning on
taking him up to Edmonton to see the veterinary homeopathic guru, Dr. Steve Marsden - he's also certified to see people, and I've referred a number of canine and human patients to him over the years! So now it's our turn! So, that's the story this week!
PS Check out the video down near the bottom of this e-blast! Thanks!
Current regular feature... Asking for help...

Help me to create some content! I'm asking for the following:
- Do you have a favourite exercise, trick, or tip that you've found beneficial with your patients? Would you be willing to share that with others?
- Send me a little video of that 'thing'. Please include (either within the video or in writing) who you are and where you're from (business/clinic & location) and a description of your exercise, trick, or tip, and why you find it to be so fabulous.
- Let me highlight you! Share with colleagues! And win stuff! (I don't know what yet... I'll figure that out... It'll be FourLeg Stuff of some sort!)
Thank you in advance! You guys are great! I know you'll have some awesome stuff to share. I can't wait to see what you send me!
Oh... by the way, you can send them to this e-mail (Laurie@FourLeg.com), likely via WeSendit.com or HighTail.com, or Dropbox or Google Docs... (but send me an e-mail before hand so I don't just start opening random attachments please! I'd like to remain virus free!)

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the
exercises. There's so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains
to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
