Life update:
As you read this, I'll be on day 4 of teaching the Advanced Canine Rehab Course for the Animal Rehab Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. I'm not going to lie... I started this e-blast last weekend, because I know I'll be brain dead when I should be doing this!
This week ahead, hubby and I have a doctor appointment for him (and mostly me) to interview a new family doc. On Thursday, hubby goes for an Octreoscan to see where all he 'lights up' (i.e. where all the tumour has metastasized to!). Fingers crossed, it's nowhere that we don't already know about!
Honestly, I don't think I know anything else!
PS... I'll remind folks that I'd LOVE any little videos you can send me that I could use as training videos. Quick tips. Things you like. Thoughts, advice, etc. I'm having troubles keeping up. I have a few... now I just have to put them together. (I should be able to get to that when this course is over.) Thank you.

OKAY, let's get onto your learning for the week...
BLOG:
Developing Rapport with Referring Veterinarians

There’s no question about it, getting started in canine rehab is tough. You can’t assume that by just hanging up your sign and announcing that you’re open for business, that people will come or vets will refer. I watched a great podcast on this topic recently, Developing Relationships with Physicians.
So much of it applies to (all of) us as well!

NEXT SERIES OF SPINE COURSES in the USA
|
|
I can't sugar coat this. You need manual therapy training. You need to be able to assess and treat the spine. It's imperative! Problems here can cause lameness and pain! You need this information!
AND... if you already have chiropractic training, you are eligible to take the Advanced Manual Therapy for the Canine Spine course. I've taught tons of veterinarians with chiro training and my Advanced course is a HUGE hit with that crowd! If you've never taken one of my manual therapy courses, start with the Basic course. Trust me, it's more advanced than anything you got in your basic canine rehab training!

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies,
exercises, advisement, etc, etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted,
because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
