The life updates:
Well, it's been an up and down week.
UP: My youngest son got a puppy. So, I'm officially a grandma! He is so cute about it. He's reading dog training books and blogs, and being very diligent with potty training, positive reinforcement, playing games like hide and seek, and working on teaching her new things and stimulating her desire to learn. I'm a very proud momma watching him with this little pup and to see the care and thought he's putting into raising this
little being already!
DOWN: I had to put down my 15 3/4 year old sheltie on Wednesday. Kidney disease. But my vet told me that he was amazed she made it this long given her kidney values a year and a half ago. Misty was my 'heart dog'... and I'm missing her terribly. But I believe that all things happen for a reason. And with her passing, we can focus more on my husband and his treatments at home. So I will thank her (and the other little sheltie
Layla that we had to put down in October) for this gift... as hard as it might be to accept.
NEW: So, with the latest blood work showing improvements, the naturopath has felt it would be good to start Mistletoe injection with my hubby. Just a wee bit subcutaneously to stimulate a reaction and stimulate the immune system to fire up. So far so good.
THANK YOU: Thank you to everyone that has sent me e-mails, messages, and even cards to sent me and my hubby positive energy, prayers, and good intentions. I appreciate it so very much.
THIS WEEK: This week, I head out to Belgium to teach. I've never been to Belgium so I'm looking forward to it. Maybe a bit crazy, but I'm looking forward to seeing the main train station. I've seen pictures and videos of it and it is supposed to be gorgeous.
That all for now!
Okay, now on with your learning...

Loss of motion or stiffness. Is it muscle, soft tissue, or capsule?
|
|
I was listening to a podcast-video the other day, and it was a Question & Answer session for physical therapists. So the question came in: “How do you differentiate between muscle, soft tissue, or joint capsule in the case of loss of motion or stiffness?” The panel proceeded to answer the question and came up with a number of pieces of advice.
What I found fascinating was that it required the panelists (and my own brain), to slow down and describe the actual thought processing required to differentiate between these things. It made me realize, yet again, how much of the physio thought processing that I take for granted.

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
