Lets see... life in review. This past week (and up until Thursday), I am eating one piece of toast a day leading up to a blood test on Thursday. I told my doctor that I don't eat grain products (anything with gluten) because I feel better without it, and it plugs me up. So this week, I've had post nasal drip and a plugged nose. Quite frankly, I don't care if the celiac screening test comes back as negative, I don't like being 'snotty'
all the time. Thursday can't come soon enough!
On the home front, hubby is currently taking Chinese herbs. He has a 30 day supply of stems, and roots, and who-knows-what that he boils into a tea every day. It's not so great tasting, but he's up for anything. Most interesting in the mix of 'stuff' is this weird thing that looks a bit like a boiled toe when we strain the concoction. Really hoping it's not a toe!! Glad I'm not the one drinking the tea!
Also this upcoming week, I'll be doing a Facebook Live interview on https://www.facebook.com/CAMarthritis/ at noon (MST, which is UTC -7:00). Catch it if you can and/or watch for the replay. Either way, check out their FB page and website. They're
doing great things!

Alrighty, enough about me...

Let's get onto your learning for the week...
BLOG:
Accepting the Old Dog
|
|
This past week and a half I had two patients come in. Both older dogs. And both facing a decline in their health. It got me to thinking about the mindset of clients and how to get them to transition from ‘Keep my dog strong, young and healthy’ to ‘I am grateful to have this wonderful old dog in my life.’
I’m sure you’ve had these clients. They come to you because they want help to keep their dog young, strong, and healthy. Delay aging if you can! Make them look and feel like they’re 4 years old again! Often times when starting rehab with a ‘newly declining’ senior dog, we really can make a huge impact on the dog’s physical function.
However...

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
Until next time... Cheers!
