Blog - Emotional Stress & The Competition Dog
And Four Leg Info on Traction!
The life updates:
This week has been pretty good. Some problems solved. Some relationships fortified. I sort of feel like I might be getting caught up (nah...) or maybe it's just that my brain isn't going at a million miles per hour in multiple directions! Anyhow, I'm taking it!
And with that little bit of brain space unoccupied, I decided to do a membership drive - starting with allowing Free Access to my Laser Therapy Update Webinar. (PS Members already have access to this as Training Videos 180 & 181). For the Friends of Four Leg, I'll be sending out a link to see the Laser Webinar on Thursday (and Friday). So if you have any canine rehab colleagues that would like to update their laser knowledge,
tell them to sign up 'For Free Stuff' on FourLeg.com. Thanks everyone!
So, that's all for now!

Blog:
Competition Dog and Emotional Stress
|
|
This blog is very much ‘outside the box’! In fact, it’s a topic I’ve never heard talked about!
Human athletes can suffer injuries not only from training overload or injury but as a result of too much emotional stress! Sure! Why not?
The blog that enlightened me on this subject was https://www.themanualtherapist.com/2020/01/top-5-fridays-5-emotionalliftstyle.html
“It is well established scientifically that our adaptation to our training loads is influenced (positively & negatively) by biomechanical factors (how we move) as well as various emotional and lifestyle stressors.”
Top Five Emotional/Lifestyle Stressors that Increase Injury Risk
1. elevated academic stress
2. elevated emotional stress
3. anxiety
4. self-blame
5. perfectionism

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!

- Now, to get on, you need to sign up with a NEW
username and password. (Password can be the same as what you you to get into the Member's area). Next time you want 'in', it should remember you.
- Pick a user name that you want displayed.
- Answer questions. Post questions.
- Sign your posts please... It's nice to reply to a person by name!
- If you
want to post a document or a picture, you can drag it into the message box or scroll down, click attachments, and then 'add files'.
