Lets see... life in review.
I'm still working. Owners can drop off their dogs or come in with a mask. Either way, reception has been pretty good. This upcoming week, we'll be able to apply for government wage subsidy. Hopefully that will help to cover some clinic costs. Our landlord has agreed to defer the base cost of our rent for 3 months. And I have one therapist coming back to work after her travel quarantine.
Got the son and girlfriend moved out of Rez at U of C. However, plans were screwed up again, because I couldn't get internet at the cottage - The dish needs to go higher on the roof, which is a two man job, for which they can't book it until the end of April. So, my son asked his grandma if they could move into her basement instead. (I'm not going to lie, it's a bit of a kick in the teeth... but it's likely for the best right now, so that I'm not
tempted to smother him in his sleep.) My mom is in her element cooking them breakfast, lunch, and dinner while they finish their University studies (or play Mindcraft or watch Netflix...). I'm not so secretly hoping that they get to see my mother as the parent she was for me, and not just the doting grandma she is to him. Fingers crossed!
Other than that, calving has started on the ranch. So my hubby, the youngest son, and the hired hand are self isolated with the 380 girls set to give birth in the next two months. However, it's a nice reprieve to go checking cows.

Let's get onto your learning for the week...
BLOG:
Service Vests and Movement Restrictions
|
|
A recent study in AJVR (March 2020) revealed that dogs wearing service vests displayed changes in truncal motion. Researchers Foutz and Budsberg developed a 3-D kinematic model to measure truncal motion in dogs and assess the changes in truncal motion when wearing each of 2 different service vests.

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!
I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc,
etc!
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the
Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
Go there... Check it out!!!

Have a great week everyone!
