Blog - Sit. Stand. Go! - Book Review
And Four Leg Info on Proprioception!
The life updates:
I'm still working. I'm also fairly happy with the measures we've taken at the clinic to keep everyone safe and healthy. So far so good. We're riding this thing out!
Kudos to everyone finding ways to survive, be productive, or bide their time. As this goes on, it's getting tougher and tougher on all of us!
On the home front almost all of the yard snow drifts have melted, and I might be able to get some yard work started up soon. Calving on the ranch is going well. Hubby is staying healthy. (He has a CT this upcoming week - it will be interesting to know / see if what all we are doing has made any changes to his tumours. We'll see. Fingers crossed.)
Beyond that, I will just point out that this month marks the 8th birthday of FourLeg.com! That's 8 years of content! 8 years of weekly blogs! 8 years of weekly e-blasts! Oh my! So much information! (So much work!) And I have so much gratitude for all of you, the Members and Friends of FourLeg, for all of your support!
Alright, so enough about me...

A big thank you to Jenny Moe of Moe Love Myofascial Release based in San Francisco for providing her portion of this video and for being the inspiration behind my portion of the video (where I used the information Jenny provides and apply it to a recent patient of mine.) I think you will like this as a practical solution for dogs that have some toe scuffing troubles.
Enjoy!

Book Review - Sit. Stand. Go!
|
|
For this blog post, I wanted to do a book review. The book is entitled Sit. Stand. Go! By Kate Titus. I came across this book because I was asked if I would read it and provide a ‘comment’ for the back cover. My comment sums it up. “Kate captures what it means to live with and love a mobility challenged dog. I am so impressed with this book it will be required reading for all my
clients.” So, here’s the gist of the book...

In this NEW section, I want to inspire you to GO BACK THROUGH some of the OLD Four Leg Education Modules!
Proprioception
There are so many times when proprioceptions is mentioned in so much of what we do from a rehab perspective. Here's a little bit of what FourLeg has to offer on this topic. (PS I searched FourLeg using the terms proprioception, proprioceptive, motor control, balance, body awareness.) I'm sure the topic is tucked into a number of other sources on FourLeg as well. These were just what came up with those search terms!

I've put all of my exercises (and some of yours) onto a handy platform - Physiotec! It's a wonderful online resource for delivering home exercise / advice programs.
There are HUNDREDS of exercises FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM already! You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's
so much! Massage, Owner-friendly joint therapies, Exercises, Advisement, etc, etc.
NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by / billed for separately, by... Physiotec... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to
FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
I hope you find it useful!
GO THERE... CHECK IT OUT!
