Lets see... life in review.

I'm still working. The clinic is actually busy. I feel very fortunate! I had one more therapist return to work last week. So things are moving forward there!

Calving is over! So just the next round of things to be done before getting moms and babes out to pasture (and then the Bulls in July).

We have BEES now! Nothing really more to report on that end!

The yard is getting green. I got my garden planted (just one plot... I have 4). However, we need to move / fix the chicken coop which will require moving the garden plots. So I might as well not plant them! Always something to do! (We've needed to fix the coop for a number of years now. Maybe THIS will be the summer!)

Okay! Enough about me...

So, here’s a blog that comes from a story told to me by a Swedish friend. Thank you, Inger Jacobson, for inspiring this blog!

As if the Swedes couldn’t get any healthier, this story proves that they outdo us all in making physical activity a priority in life. I was told about a new trend that started because of a conference in Kiruna. At the conference one lady told that when her mother goes to sit down, she does 10 repetitions before she actually sits.

To get on, you need to sign up with a NEW username and password. (Password can be the same as what you you to get into the Member's area). Next time you want 'in', it should remember you.
Pick a user name that you want to be seen.
Answer questions. Post questions.
Sign your posts please... It's nice to reply to a person by name!
If you want to post a document or a picture, you can drag it into the message box or scroll down, click attachments, and then 'add files'.
Videos... Upload to Youtube, and then posting the link.

Thinking Like a PT / Physio

So there was a question that came in (and I put on the forum) about Basic PT terms / Concepts. It's a huge topic. (Rather like asking about Basic Veterinary Terms and Concepts). I dug up an old document that was entitled Thinking Like a PT that I created back in the early 2000's to help vets use PT-type clinical reasoning to help make clinical diagnoses. I posted it on FourLeg today for others to find. But it got me thinking about what else I have that helps to make that transition for the non-PT / non-Physio a bit easier.

The latest (and greatest) online exercise prescription platform... FOURLEGEXERCISE.COM

For over a year, I worked with Physiotec (an online exercise platform) to create a exercise prescription platform for canine rehab practitioners. And this is it!

I've put hundreds of exercises together onto this handy platform. You can find the exercises, print off a handout, send them a link to the VIDEOS of the exercises. There's so much: Massage, owner-friendly joint therapies, exercises, advisement, etc, etc!

NOW... be aware that this platform is run by / owned by Physiotec (and they charge separately for it's use)... and the support for the website is via physiotec as well. The MAIN GLITCH I am finding now... is that when you e-mail or call tech-support you will NEED to LET THEM KNOW that your question pertains to FOURLEGEXERCISE! (Otherwise, it's a bit of a schmozzle to get sorted, because they direct you to the Physiotec website vs FourLegExercise website!!!) Check it out and LET ME KNOW (what you think, your experiences, etc... so that I can report back if there are issues!)
